A new look into the new  year.

As you all are very aware of, the new year is coming! I'm every excited for it, because a new year means new possibilities, new adventures, and also failures. Yes, failures excite me, because that means I tried something ! The church I've been attending since I moved here to Cleveland started a series that discussed time and what we do with it. It's only the second week and it's got me really thinking about what is holding me back from my dreams. Curious that if my dreams are what God has called me to, but I believe that sometimes our callings come out in our dreams to Glorify Christ in all circumstances in our lives. 

Aside from that, there are still things that hold us back from moving forward. 10 Things that I've been reflecting on are the following...

1. Don't let the opinion of others control your life.

     -Others have their own lives to take control of, not yours. That is why it is yours. When I made the decision not to go to college I cannot tell you the countless amount of awkward conversations I had. Everything from well what are you going to do if this doesn't work out or you'll never get anywhere without a degree. My answer is I will always strive to do the best I can, and if college is where God wants me in a few weeks, months, years it will always be there. That answer wasn't the right one to many, but guess what I didn't care it was right for me.

2. The shame of past failures.

    -The past does not determine your future, its what you do to change what failed. I don't even like looking at things as failures, because you went out there and did it. And if you still want what you set out for, it's not a failure because you can go and get it no matter what happens.

3. Your need to be right.

     -Pride aside easy as that. You can learn new things when you loose your pride. You are right to be wrong and always aim for success.

4. Indecisiveness at it's finest.

     - I am one of the most indecisive person I know, however I HATE IT! I cant stand when someone can't make up their mind but yet I do it all the time with my goals and where I want to be! I can't ever get anywhere if I cant make up my mind!

5. Making excuses rather than decisions.

     - Yup I said it, you know when you're making an excuse! Evaluate your decisions pros and cons, not why you cant do it.

6. Procrastinating goals that matter to you.

      - I put off everything, I let other things that come up take over things I want to get done. Things that make my goals get put off, shouldn't be put in front of. But I am one of those people that if someone tells me to do something I want to get it done right away for them because if I don't do it right then and there I know it wont get done. So why do we put off our important goals for other people?

7. Running away from problems that need fixed.

        - Escaping problems will only bring you back to a dead end. Clearing up the problems open up your paths for less road bumps! Nothing is worse than having old issues come up when your trying to achieve something.

8. Choosing to do nothing;

       - WILL GET YOU NOTHING! I completely understand rest time, you need it! However, don't get stuck in the rest zone because you just don't feel like doing something. Every-time I get tired and I know that if I slow down I'll be done for the day, I go for a walk and breathe in fresh air. Honestly it clears your mind up, awakens your eyes! Don't become a vegetable!

9. Overlooking the positive

        - To every negative there is a positive. Don't overlook something being too small that it's not worth acknowledging! 

10. Being unappreciative of the present moment.

        - You will have a hard time ever being happy if you aren't thankful for the good and small things you have in your life right now.


I hate when people say whats your New Years resolution. I don't have one, I have a lifetime of goals that I set before me each day. I hope you can reflect too this holiday season, see whats important in your life and what you can move on from! Merry Christmas to all!!

Down to the wire , Were getting down to the last week countdown until SOUL FUEL has it's kickoff day on April 17th, 2012. I can't express how excited I am, and anxious to say the least. The physical and spiritual hunger of these children and families of Cleveland truly is what keeps me going and is what Soul Fuel is all for. Lighting a fire from with in that shines so bright among the children of the city. The little faces that come see me everyday asking what it is that they can do to help or if we can play a game is what this program is all about.  A week ago, I held a game night at the mission. I didn't advertise the night that largely, mostly because it was our first event and the lack of volunteers would be difficult to handle the amount of kids this night could have had. Hello Blogger, It's been awhile

Hey world of beautiful craziness! Sorry for the long wait of update for those of you who follow my mini travel blog. It's been just that, BEAUTIFUL craziness. I have so much that I could fill you in on since the beginning of the Summer but it seems like that was so long ago! This past week I've been able to reflect and really catch somewhat of what you would call a grasp of my life.  Show me Your glory! So firstly, WOW, I've learned SO much this summer that I don't think I will ever forget!  It's amazing the story. It's amazing how quickly us human race gives up. Love perseveres - It's in the bible. We say we believe it, but do we live it? I am at no higher standard, but I want to strive persevere. God is Love, so God perseveres. His work is never finished.  This summer has been ONE bumpy ride. A Christmas Miracle.

Merry Christmas to all you beautiful souls! And of course a Happy New Year!  Hello! I've had one of the best couple months of my life! I feel like I'm really beginning to let go a lot of past grief and clinging to Christ. I had the opportunity to go to a Backstreet Boys and Gavin Degraw concert which was an absolute amazing night that I needed to feel like a little kid again! I've also been taking on more responsibilities at the mission and got two new roommates! YAY for not loosing sleep for living alone anymore! My dad is on a mission trip in Bolivia and to say he's loving it too much would be an understatement. It's been a long month not having him even just 2 hours away but now 6,000 miles away, however I am so ecstatic that he is living out his calling. I was in a minor car accident for the first time ever and of course was the first night my dad left the country! What an appreciation that gave me for him!!! No worries, everything is all good! OK!
